The Highways & Byways of Europe

Many know that the regulations in Europe vary enormously, from country to country, sometimes even region to region. In some cases, oversize cargo has to travel on the Motorway, Autobahn or Autostrada. In others, movement is only allowed on secondary roads. In many countries, privately owned, pilot cars are considered adequate. In others, police escorts are the order of the day.
Seen on route from Lille to Barcelona, this 6.50m wide, 55 ton casting, has them both - pilot cars and the police. In the photograph, the journey has just got underway. This is just one of many minor roads, in this case on the outskirts of Valenciennes, a very short section of a very long and slow, 1300 km journey.
By concentrating primarily on the movement of oversize cargo, STG has an intimate knowledge of the Highways & Byways of Europe, together with the associated regulations and procedures. This is just one of the many reasons that customers entrust their inter European movements to the STG team.
